PBR materials are supported natively in Rhino’s rendering engines and viewports. they have added support for PBR materials, a LayerBook command, and faster rendering. I guess this is kind of a long shot, but would it be possible for Octane for Modo to support the new PBR viewport materials in Modo 10? This is easy to code - but hard to work out the conversion of the Unity/Unreal materials properties to the Octane material. ![]() There shouldn't be any limitation and imported materials should be not Rhino PBR but Octane ones - one thing that may happen with Octane is complaining about texture repathing on material import, but the Octane developer said it should stay as it is as users are used to such thing and this behavior was requested earlier by users.
